About

Rodmir is a place where a family keeps its stories itself: by voice, in writing and in photos.

Lidiya Nikandrovna Muzykova (Sermyagina)

How it all began

The first archive is the Sermyagin family. In 2022 their book «Doroga dolgaya» came out. It holds «Notes in grandmother's notebooks» by Lidiya Nikandrovna Muzykova (Sermyagina), Kazan, 1996, and six family stories of her relatives.

On the site the book became the first collection of stories. The relatives continue it: they tell their own, caption photos and decide together who is who.

What we believe in

Frequent questions

Who sees my stories?

Those you opened them to: all relatives, relatives and close ones, chosen people or only you. Guests see only what was shared with them by a link or what the keeper put on the showcase.

Can I be in two families?

Yes, for example in your own family and in your husband's. One family's stories are not visible to the other until you publish them in both yourself.

What if relatives argue about who is in a photo?

Everyone suggests their version and votes. When three agree and no one is against, the keeper approves — and the caption appears on the photo and in the tree.

Does the site recognize faces?

Only with your consent. We will ask when you sign up or when you first press «Suggest who this is». Without consent your face is not compared, and you can withdraw it in the settings.

How do I export or delete my data?

In the settings: export your stories and delete your account. Or write to us — under the GDPR we answer within a month at the latest.

Who makes it

The project is made by Kirill Sermyagin. Questions, mistakes and ideas — on the contacts page.
